About Adrian Chong

Adrian Chong is the Policy Manager at ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), where his responsibilities encompass a diverse range of impactful roles. He focuses on:(i) Developing policy strategies that define key focal points for the region, such as sustainability and technological integration within the accounting profession, and identifying pertinent topics for CPD courses, including updates on accounting standards.(ii) Conducting research projects through the facilitation of high-level roundtables, structured interviews, and survey Acting as the primary spokesperson for thought leadership initiatives at prestigious events like the ACCA Annual Conference, CFO Summit, and other prominent forums.(iv) Contributing to industry consultations in the China region concerning significant initiatives like the HKSAR Budget Proposal, HKSAR Policy Address Proposal and consultation responses on the enhancement of climate disclosure to HKEX etc. Adrian played a pivotal role in establishing the China Public Affairs Team in 2022, cultivating essential partnerships with governmental agencies and regional accountancy bodies. These collaborations have significantly enhanced ACCA's presence and influence across the profession, the economy, and society at large. Before his tenure at ACCA, Adrian served as an audit manager at Ernst & Young. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a major in accounting and finance from the University of Melbourne, as well as a Master of Business Administration from City University of Hong Kong. Adrian is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand. Outside of his professional commitments, Adrian actively engages in community service. He contributes his expertise to the Future Leaders Committee at the British Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong. Previously, he held leadership positions in the Rotaract Club of Peninsula as the Director of Professional Development and in the Leo Club of Hong Kong Island as Honorary Treasurer and Vice President.
