About Adrian Cox

I have worked in specialty insurance since joining Beazley in 2001 during the most exciting and revolutionary times for our segment of the industry. It is a privilege to play a part in building and creating a vibrant, ambitious yet reliable liability business as Specialty Lines in Beazley. From starting new insurance companies in North America and Europe, to establishing unique new products in cyber liability, to new modelling techniques pricing complex long tail business my roles in Beazley have allowed me to play a part in so much. My background in studying economics and history gives me a curiosity about how the world works. The work at Beazley feeds that curiosity as we try to anticipate and respond to changes in drivers of business, risk and demand. Life around us gets continuously more complicated and insurance (especially beautifully designed insurance!) has a genuine benefit to society in mitigating and transferring that risk, particularly if it’s new and different. I enjoy working with the newly established LGBT+ network at Beazley (Proud@Beazley), and delighted that it is growing so fast. My work has allowed me to work across the UK, to live in the USA (twice) but also to travel across the world which partially satisfies the wanderlust that I share with my wife and two children. Occasionally, though, I am able to indulge my other vices. Some are very low key – I love to read, to cook, wrestle with a crossword. Others are a little less so – my favourite find a few years ago was the flying trapeze, and I am thrilled that there is a new rig in Ruskin Park only a couple of miles from our home.
