About Adrian Daly

I am a Physician-Scientist working in the fields of Endocrinology and Genetics with a specific interest in the pathophysiology of rare and inherited diseases of hormonal function, such as acromegaly, and neuroendocrine tumors. I hold doctorates in Medicine (MD) and in Clinical Sciences (PhD). I'm a Specialist in Internal Medicine and Endocrinology-Diabetes (Chef de Clinique) and am currently based at the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire (CHU) de Liège, University of Liège, Belgium. My research is collaborative, international and multi-disciplinary in nature and I enjoy an excellent working relationship with dozens of like-minded colleagues and researchers across the globe. This collaborative research has led to discoveries in the pathophysiology of endocrine tumors, causes of treatment resistance (e.g in somatostatin analog resistance in acromegaly), and rare disease epidemiology. This work has allowed me to make significant medical contributions, including the characterization of two diseases, familial isolated pituitary adenomas (FIPA) and X-linked acrogigantism (X-LAG) syndrome. I have also have a long-held interest in clinical research in common and rare diseases. In particular, I have experience in the design and oversight of Phase I to Phase IV studies. To this end I have co-founded biotechnology and related companies to develop existing and novel molecular entities.
