About Adrian Dobre

My strategic asset is the ability to learn new skills and adapt to change. I love the technical aspect of learning and development so much that I started learning programming to interact with more than just the content of a learning management system (LMS). I want to be able to change, adapt, and personalize learning apps to fit the job perfectly. Currently, I am learning web development (MERN stack: MongoDB, Express.js, React.js, Node.js) because I want to code my own e-learning ideas. When I started coordinating the communications department of a non-profit, I really enjoyed the startup culture. We designed, coded, printed, hitchhiked, and pulled all-nighters to get the job done with almost no financial resources. It got a bit easier when I joined a communications agency and, later, the marketing department of an international corporation. During this period, I learned how to write copy, conduct interviews, edit multimedia, and develop brand strategies. I transferred some of these skills to learning and development and earned a master's in Adult Learning. I believe that every e-learning course that leads to knowledge retention and skill development is more about research and learning theory and less about elaborate videos and pixel-perfect images. I have implemented e-learning solutions using both open-source and proprietary apps, digitalized processes, and tinkered with the server side of administering an LMS. Working in Romania, Slovenia, Belgium, Poland, and Morocco taught me about different management styles, leadership, and cultural sensitivity.
