About Adrian Jitaru

With the power of consumer grade 3D scanner and printer, every matter changed from impossible to measure and model to how over-engineered you want your final piece to be. From simple object to stunning and organic-like structures, the journey uses five software and a limitless mind to achieve updates, improvements and new function for a plain simple object made with mass-production in mind. This odyssey starts with a keen eye and steady hand during the scanning procedure leading to a clean cloud of points which can be closed into a fine mesh. This is further processed with the help of the second software to align the mesh with an axis system and extract key features such as curved surfaces, screw domes, dog houses, ribs and more geometrical features while assessing the deviations from the raw scan data. After extracting these key elements, the real adventure can begin in form of closing surfaces in the third software specially made for 3D modeling where extra features can be added with the 3D print process in mind. Also here enforcers, negatives, add-ons geometry can be exported to the fourth software where FEA analysis leads to organic like structures or meshes like Voronoi or simple patterns for less material usage and full-strength. The culmination takes us to the final software where the g-code for the printer is generated, using the best layer orientation, infill and colors and finally, after hours of waiting the result is in your hands again but better, cool looking, with more functionalities and most important, made by my own head :D.
