About Adrian Lai

A multidisciplinary researcher with experience working in industry R&D, fundamental academic research and elite sport environments. With training in mechanical engineering and muscle physiology, I utilize my diverse experience and skill set to solve real-world, human experiential problems and create innovative products. My previous academic research was to advance our understanding the role of muscle function and neural drive to the muscles during movement. The goals of my research were to yield therapies and technologies that advanced the treatment of neuromuscular impairments due to disorders such as stroke, to better understanding the functional diversity of muscle and tendons in humans and vertebrates, and advance human health and wellbeing through predictive tools that optimise strategies to recover from movement-related disorders due to ageing or injury.
