Background
About Adrian Ross
I have worked as an instruments and controls technician in the upstream and downstream segments of the energy sector for the past 14 years. During that period, I performed monthly fiscal calibration on various oil and gas metering systems and LACT units both onshore and offshore. I also gained valuable experience and built my expertise in commissioning for brownfield and greenfield projects. Within recent years I transitioned into to a senior consultancy role where I provide technical support for the design and installation of control and measurement systems. My knowledge of surface production processes motivated me to pursue an understand of the subsurface. Therefore, I began studying reservoir engineering with a focus on production optimization. I have a Bachelor of Applied Science and a Master of Engineering in Petroleum Engineering, with a specialization in renewable energy. I also hold certifications in hydraulics and pneumatics systems, valves and wellhead systems, and data science. Currently, as a Researcher in Energy Engineering, I apply my knowledge and skills in petroleum engineering and renewable energy to explore data driven solutions for enhanced gas recovery via CO2 injection. My research focuses on two key components: the application of supervised machine learning for reservoir characterization and the reservoir management plan for delaying CO2 breakthrough. I collaborate with other researchers and industry partners to conduct experiments, analyze data and develop models and recommendations. Ultimately, I plan to contribute to the sustainable development of the Trinidad and Tobago economy by deploying and designing novel production strategies to ensure energy security as it pertains to the supply of natural gas. My intent is to try to resolve real world global issue of carbon emissions by applying my skills and knowledge in the area of geologic sequestration. I am very passionate about finding innovative and efficient ways to optimize gas reservoir performance and reduce environmental impacts.
