About Adrian Thiessen

I have been a member of the St. Catharines community since 2005 when I moved to the Niagara Region from Quispamsis, New Brunswick to Attend the Film Program at Brock University. As current President, Creative Head and Co-Owner of local media company Fourgrounds Media Inc. I have been an artist, advocate, entrepreneur, and pioneer in the video and interactive media sector. During my schooling at Brock, as a member of the Executive Board at BrockTV I helped to: create, operate and propel the student run volunteer club for over three years I helped steer the club through a successful student referendum, allowing the organization to become sustainable with a yearly $250 budget. I am now teaching two courses at Brock in their new Interactive Arts and Sciences Department. As an artist my work has won several awards and been showcased in festivals including the Brock University 24 hr Film Festival, Niagara Indie Film Fest, N.A.C, In the Soil Homegrown Arts Festival. Guelph Sharp Cuts Film Festival and the New Brunswick Drama Festival. Fourgrounds has be awarded several local entrepreneurial nominations and awards in the past 4 years and our campaigns have won our clients several communication and advertising awards including a Global Best and an Apex Award. As a pioneer of the Interactive Media Sector of Niagara, I now sit on the nGen Advisory Committee. Fourgrounds is also responsible for aiding and planning the implementation of a recent 3.02 Million Dollar Federal Infrastructure Grant as a leading member of the nGen Phase II Steering Committee and exclusive Technology Partner. In the short time I have been in the Niagara Region my knowledge, creativity, and passion have opened doors including access to immense technologies through nGen. Specialties: As a business leader I specialize in strategic planning, innovation and business management. As an artist I specialize in film and video direction, production and conceptual creation. With a heavy background in visual art, graphic design, music, and photography, film making, and video production was a natural career choice.
