About Adrian Vaju

Started as a DTP designer at a small printing house, then switched to a Paper Magazine where I built the cover pages and the promotional ones. Meantime I was learning everything I could about branding, color theory, space in design, contrast, and fonts. After that, my path led me to an outdoor company where I learned about ATL advertising, and national campaigns for big brands (VW, Audi, beer brands, fashion brands). At that point, I started to create visual branding for smaller companies and tradeshows advertising. During this period I gained a lot of experience sitting down with clients understanding their pains and trying to help them achieve through better communication what their brand was all about. These experiences paved the way for discovering my biggest passion - user experience and always focusing on customer needs. After 5 years spent in an advertising agency focused on ATL and BTL advertising my focus started to shift to web experiences and websites. I spent the next 10 years as a web designer and brand designer, crafting websites, and applications and being in communication with big brands as part of the Minicards experience (Macy's, Disney, Madame Tussaud, H&M HBO Shop, and more). That period was amazing, understanding how big brands position themselves in the market and how important is to have precise and unified communication. The next step I took was mobile design, user experiences, responsive design, mapping user journeys, and understanding where users get trapped in products. I took a lot of classes from Google, and Coursera then applied everything to a new product - Instacard. I started as a UI designer and then transitioned to UX and finally to a Product Designer and Manager at Instacard, where I lead teams, communicate with shareholders, create processes, and analyze data and user journeys. My new role includes adding new product features, presenting them to the teams and shareholders, brainstorming, analyzing, implementing, and testing.
