I am a skilled registered nurse with more than 18 years of experience providing excellent clinical care and nurse management. While my focus has been managing nursing and serving geriatric and memory care residents and their families in a nursing home setting, I am looking for career opportunities in other areas of need in healthcare. As a hands-on clinical manager, I'm recognized for my dedication, compassion, and excellent listening and communication skills. I particularly enjoy health care education and am able to convey basic as well as more complex information to patients and their families. Over the years, I've helped hundreds of patients and families navigate life changes and helped lead our nursing staff through changes in our industry, including COVID. I've worked with and educated staff, residents, and families dealing with potential and in-the-moment changes in resident condition. My focus in geriatric care is on quality of life. Leading one-to-one and family discussions, we discuss comfort and wellness goals and changes. I encourage the family to honor their loved one's desires and wishes. Over the years, families, residents, and staff have appreciated my way of communicating with empathy, common sense, and practicality. I'm a fast learner comfortable with new technology including electronic charting software (ECS), communicating remotely with family and telehealth and telemed visits, using iPads and laptops via Zoom and Facetime.
