About Adrienne Winter

I have recently completed my MSc in Mechatronics Engineering in the African Robotics Unit (ARU). The main areas I worked in include SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping), computer vision, visual odometry, and embedded systems design - coding in C++ and Python. Now, I am starting a new position as a Robotics Engineer consultant with GlobalLogic placed on a project at Google Deep Mind in London. I am aiding in data collection on bi-armed robotic platforms, debugging the robots as issues arise and helping to maintain the robotic R&D lab SOP documentation. I have a strong academic record and work ethic, demonstrated by the awards I received during my studies- Awarded a distinction for my MSc dissertation- Awarded an Oppenheimer Memorial Trust postgraduate scholarship during my MSc- Invited to join the Golden Key International Honor Society during my BSc- Consistent inclusion on the Dean's Merit List throughout my BSc- Awarded a faculty scholarship for academic achievement during my BSc. Apart from engineering design, I have good communication skills- Commended by Associate Professor Amir Patel as a good spokesperson for our research group (African Robotics Unit), speaking in front of lab funders on presentation days and the general public on lab open days- Authored two technical articles for educating non-technical readers that were published 8 times collectively on local online news outlets for my previous employer, AWPower.
