About Agathe Herrou

I am a computer scientist passionate about music, languages and creativity. My research career started with a PhD in optimal transport applied to computational geometry, which allowed me to become proficient with research methodology and numerical optimisation techniques. I then was lucky enough to carry on with a post-doc at Grame CNCM working on the arithmetic aspect of the Faust audio language compiler, and working in the fascinating world of computer music research. In particular, I got the opportunity to organise the first ever French seminar on the topic of live-coding, which is a passion of mine. After one year of sabbatical where I was able to explore more personal projects, my priorities shifted, and I got to accomplish my dream of moving to Belgium by getting hired by Essensium, where I am currently working as a web developer (which also came with the perks of helping me get proficient in Dutch). In my free time, I like to engage in a myriad of passion projects, which generally involve some combination of knitting, music and languages.
