About Age Mooij

I am an experienced product-focused tech lead and software engineer with a passion for simplicity, innovation, scalability, craftsmanship, and agile development. I've been working on various Scala-based stacks for many years but I have also used Golang and I'm currently learning Rust to compare and contrast. I love designing simple and consistent APIs (gRPC, REST) and I'm a strong believer in automated testing.I love working together with product owners to figure out which problems need solving, how to get from here to there, and what the challenges and risks are. I have lead engineering teams and projects and I enjoy hands-on mentoring through pair programming and code reviews.I was one of the founders of the Dutch Scala Enthusiasts user group and I have spoken about Scala (and other topics) at multiple national and international conferences. Most recently I have worked with high-throughput near-realtime event streaming systems, consumer payments processing, fraud detection, and digital twins
