Background
About Agnes Arnaud
Agnès ARNAUD has been CEO of the INES.2S Institute for Energy Transition since early 2024. This institute is operated by CEA-Liten, within the INES campus on the Bourget-du-Lac site in Savoie. She holds a PhD in optics, optoelectronics and microwaves. She has spent most of her professional career at this Grenoble-based research institute, specialized in micro and nanotechnologies and a forerunner in France in terms of transferring innovations to industry. In 2002, she began working as a researcher developing cutting-edge technologies for infrared imagers. She has held a number of positions, from process engineer to laboratory manager, and supported the growth of ULIS, a start-up spun off from the laboratory, which will become Lynred in 2019 following its merger with SOFRADIR. In 2016, she was promoted to head of the imaging division, which brings together all design, technology, characterization and modeling skills for the development of spectrally sensitive imagers ranging from visible to THz. This work is carried out in close collaboration with industrial partners such as STMicroelectronics and LYNRED. From 2020 to the end of 2023, she headed the Optics and Photonics Division. This division, within CEA-Leti, brings together over 300 researchers involved in the conception and production of photonic devices and integrated systems in the fields of imagers, displays, communication systems and sensors. With a portfolio of 700 patents and more than €70 million annual external resources used to maintain world-class infrastructures, the division is committed to ensuring that its teams offer their industrial partners ethical research of the highest quality.
