Ahmed Nasr is a water resources engineer and a Ph.D. researcher in hydroclimatic extremes with special focus on compound flooding. Ahmed is committed to carrying out applied research aiming at understanding compound coastal and inland flooding in order to reduce disaster risk and increase community resilience. His work involves risk assessment and analyzing compound climate/weather extreme drivers that lead to flooding and their spatial & temporal interactions using multivariate statistical methods, copulas, and machine learning. Ahmed brings years of experience working on water resources related projects in academia and industry in Africa, Middle East, Europe, Central Asia, and North America with special focus to (fluvial, pluvial, coastal, and compound) flood risk assessment and management and stormwater drainage.
