About Ahmed Reda

With over 23 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, I bring extensive expertise in engineering management, specializing in onshore and offshore pipelines, subsea systems, gas distribution, deepwater projects, umbilicals, subsea cables, carbon capture, hydrogen storage, geothermal energy, asset management, and brownfield projects. My focus has been on delivering innovative, sustainable solutions for large-scale projects while ensuring compliance with both Australian and international standards. I have led multidisciplinary teams to manage and deliver complex projects, overseeing client and stakeholder relationships to ensure alignment with project goals and maintaining open communication for high-quality, customized solutions. My experience includes a strong background in onshore and offshore pipelines, deepwater projects, umbilicals, brownfield projects, and gas distribution, alongside expertise in project management, pipeline integrity, asset management, and decommissioning. In addition to my industry work, I supervise Master’s and PhD students at Curtin University, UWA, and Federation University, contributing to both academic research and practical advancements. My publications in Q1 journals reflect my dedication to advancing thought leadership and engineering innovation. Key industry contributions include-Fellow Member of Engineers Australia (FIEAust) and Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng)-National Engineering Register (NER) listing -Adjunct Research Fellow at Curtin University -Session Chair at OMAE 2024 and Organizer of Subsea System and Pipeline Integrity Sessions at previous OMAE conferences -Reviewer for top journals, including the International Journal of Fatigue and the Journal of Pressure Vessel Technology I am passionate about solving complex technical challenges, advancing sustainable energy projects, and collaborating with clients and stakeholders to deliver successful project outcomes, both onshore and offshore, including greenfield and brownfield developments.
