About Aidan Junier

I am a student at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign pursuing a Bachelors in Physics. After my time in undergrad, I plan on pursuing a PhD in Experimental Physics which will allow me to approach problems with an understanding of theory and practical knowledge. So far, my work has consisted of research on the NASA funded Terahertz Intensity Mapper, which is a spectrometer designed to study under-explored wavelengths of light. While this is important in its own right, it importantly allows me to gain hands-on experience with cryostat/vacuum construction. These concepts are extremely important for an understanding of superconductivity on a macro-scale that can easily be applied to other electrical elements. I am always seeking opportunities to learn and grow as a physicist so that I can contribute toward technologies that can change the world.
