About Aidan Reed

At a young age, I co-founded a detailing business, which honed my work and social skills early on. Currently, I am going into my senior year in Mechanical Engineering Technology at the University of Cincinnati. My unique background allows me to bridge business acumen with engineering expertise, fostering a highly productive mindset. I had the privilege of completing three Co-Op semesters at Xtek Inc, where I worked in the production group. My responsibilities included managing, creating, and releasing engineering objects using PLM and ERP systems. I became highly proficient in SolidWorks and other modeling/drawing software. Xtek's comprehensive in-house manufacturing capabilities allowed me to see the entire process from initial design to final production. This holistic exposure has given me a deep understanding of engineering, business, and manufacturing processes. My time at Nuvasive was very important to my growth as an engineer. I worked as a manufacturing engineer where we managed a fast-paced manufacturing floor. I completed their lean manufacturing academy where many concepts from this were brand new to me. My overarching projects included inspection eliminations and process improvement for a specific part we manufactured high volumes. By the end of my semester, I was able to lead a Gemba meeting where we facilitated over in savings and also simplify redundant inspection processes that led to in savings.
