About Aidan Riley

I am currently a Senior studying Computer Science at Milwaukee School of Engineering. I have experience in Java, Python, C, and Structured Text, and have sought to improve my skills outside of course curriculum through various personal projects. The past 10 years of my life I have been very involved in scouting and earned the rank of Eagle Scout in June of 2022. I’m involved in the leadership of several school clubs, including the MSOE Amateur Radio Club where I plan meetings and events focused on the science and practice of amateur radio communications as club president. Since my time in elementary school, I've been lucky enough to have a terrific exposure to programming. Coming to MSOE to study Computer Science is the culmination of the interest and love for technology that I've built. I love being able to write a program and see how all the pieces of it come together to complete a task no matter how complex or simple. Lately, I've been gaining experience in electrical concepts through courses at MSOE and a restoration of a 1950 Teletype Model 19. I've used my programming skills, electrical design concepts, and mechanical understanding to restore and connect this antique machine to a computer through a serial connection. Through my life I've been lucky enough to develop great leadership experience through ScoutsBSA. While attending to MSOE I've had opportunities to use this experience on the executive board of several student organizations, including the MSOE Amateur Radio Club, the MSOE Mug Club, and the MSOE Unicycle Club. These organizations have provided me with valuable practice as I work with a team of students to enrich our social and educational experiences. This has also provided me with practice communicating and collaborating with other campus groups.
