About Aija-Simone White

Aija-Simone White (she/her) is a passionate advocate for gender health equity, social justice, and community-centered public policy. With a wealth of experience in public policy development, government relations, and advocacy, I am dedicated to transforming the systems that shape how marginalized communities, especially Black, Indigenous, and women of color (BIWOC), access and experience health and social services. With a Bachelor of Health Studies from York University, my academic background sharpened my focus on addressing health disparities and promoting policies that are inclusive, equitable, and culturally affirming. In my role with the Ontario government, I have played a pivotal role in cross-ministerial policy efforts, contributing to reforms in social assistance delivery, long-term care programs, and primary healthcare access for vulnerable populations. I believe that impactful policy must be rooted in diverse lived experiences, community engagement, and a commitment to equity. Beyond government policy work, my advocacy extends to grassroots organizing. As the former Director of Advocacy for the York United Black Student Alliance, I championed initiatives that empowered students and celebrated cultural identity. I continue to be involved with networks such as the Black Ontario Public Servants and Women in Government Networks, where I work to amplify the voices of BIWOC in the systems that shape their lives. I am passionate about building bridges across communities, fostering relationships with key stakeholders, and advancing health and social policy that centers on equity, inclusivity, and systemic change. Whether through strategic advocacy, government relations, or policy development, I am committed to creating a more just and equitable future for all.
