About Aileen Mitchell

With a finance background gained through being on a graduate training scheme at Philips from 1990 - 1992, financial accountant at Philips Semiconductors 1992-1994 and from there as finance manager at Diageo 1995 - 1998. I took a break from working for six years when I lived abroad in Uzbekistan and Hungary with my family. During this time however I was the treasurer of the Tashkent International Medical Clinic and prepared their monthly accounts. I moved back to the UK in 2003 and set up Babyface Designs in 2004. For 13 years I grew the company and brand into what it is today, a successful children’s bedding and accessories business. In 2017 I sold it on to a company who can take the brand further. From 2017 to early 2019 I worked in the travel industry for Resorthoppa and Ama Waterways, both dynamic companies in very competitive markets. Working within great teams of people I was back in a Finance role, producing management accounts and statutory reporting. Taking some time out I then moved onto some project management work with the NHS and helped to set up a mental health clinic within one of the PCN’s in Surrey. I also helped the three surgeries with their network agreement their monthly meetings. During that time and since I continue to be a virtual finance manager for Cornucopia IT Ltd and Shaw Financial Ltd where I manage all aspects of management, financial and statutory reporting for them. I am looking to expand this more and am looking for more small companies who need some accounting / reporting/ bookkeeping work but don’t need to take on a full time person.
