Background

About Aimee Castillo

I am an alumna from the University of Regina, with a degree in Bachelor of Education, Secondary Education Program majoring in English with double minors in religious studies and social studies. I aspire to teach in a high school setting that will allow me to use my ability and the skills that I attained from my undergraduate studies and life experiences. I want to help each learner to understand and reach their full potentials which will prepare today's generation to make a better future for our society. I taught History 10, 20, 30, and Creative Writing 20 for Regina Public School's eSchool on SY 2020-21. I am currently a substitute teacher for Regina Public School Division and Regina Catholic School Division. I started working for the Royal Saskatchewan Museum as a student gallery interpreter on summer of 2016. I've delivered various programs of Life Sciences, Earth Sciences, and First Nations programs to students ranging from pre-kindergarten to high schools. I have also developed and delivered summer programs to the public, including: Guardians of the Galleries (2018), Incredible Insects (2018), Wingspan (2017), and Living Fossils (2016). I also created an escape room-inspired program called "We are all Treaty People". I started my position as one of the Lead Gallery Interpreters at the Royal Saskatchewan Museum in 2020 and created a variety of online content during the pandemic lockdown. I started working as the Visitor Experience Supervisor at the T.rex Discovery Centre in Eastend, SK in 2022 and currently also work as weekend supervisor at the Royal Saskatchewan Museum during off-season of the TRDC. I look forward to the experience and new challenges that comes with it. I was an active volunteer in my university years. I am the founder of the University of Regina Filipino Students' Society-which has been renamed to University of Regina Filipino Students' Association. I was also a peer advisor for the University of Regina Student Success Team and graduated as an active senior ambassador in 2017. I have participated in numerous campus volunteer opportunities including 5 Days for Homeless and Canadian Cancer Society's Relay for Life. My sister and I have a small business called Tangled Stories Designs and Creations. We design weatherproof stickers, cards, bookmarks, keychains, and recently expanded into drink wares. Visit us at During my free time, I also enjoy creative writing, reading, cooking, baking, crafting, photography, and travelling. I am a lifelong learner and am always willing to learn something new.
