About Aimee Hastings

With over 20 years of experience as a school nurse and diabetes support nurse, I am deeply passionate about empowering students, families, and communities to better manage diabetes and improve their health outcomes. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working directly with students and staff, providing health support, education, and advocacy—ensuring that children with diabetes receive the care and resources they need to thrive in both the classroom and in life. In my role as a Diabetes Support Nurse within the district, I specialize in coordinating care plans, educating both students and their families, and collaborating with school staff to create a supportive environment for students living with diabetes. My work has allowed me to directly impact the lives of individuals by helping them navigate the complexities of diabetes management, from blood sugar monitoring to lifestyle adjustments. Beyond my professional work, I am also an active volunteer in the diabetes community. I believe in the power of education and support, and I am dedicated to raising awareness, sharing resources, and connecting with others to foster a stronger, more informed diabetes community.
