About Aislinn Obrien

Aislinn is a chartered town planner with over 11 years professional planning experience. She has delivered a range of projects within private and public sector planning environments. Prior to joining SLR, Aislinn held positions within Colin Buchanan & Partners, Liverpool City Council and Stafford Borough Council. Aislinn is currently working with the NPWS on a Tourism Interpretation Masterplan and recently completed Sustainable Visitor Management Plan for the Ballycroy National Park. Since 2008 Aislinn has also provided planning and environmental consultancy advice to the Port of Waterford Company on a range of planning and development considerations. In 2017 Aislinn was involved in preparing the Masterplan for Warrenpoint Port. Other completed projects include the Paisley Town Centre Asset Strategy, which in 2015 won two RTPI / PLANNING Magazine Place Making Awards, winning in the category of “best use of arts, culture or sport in place-making” as well as the Regional prize for best Scottish scheme. Aislinn was also part of the project team who prepared a masterplan for an opencast coal mine at East Pit in South Wales, acting as project manager and lead author for a number of documents submitted in support of the planning application. Aislinn joined SLR Consulting Ltd from Colin Buchanan & Partners, where she worked on a number masterplanning projects including the Clonmel Urban Framework Plan and Gortlee House & Estate Masterplan, ES and planning application. She was also main author of the Callan and Castlecomer Local Area Plans and associated SEA prepared for Kilkenny Count Council. Her public sector experience includes a previous position as Spatial Planning Officer within Liverpool City Council where she was involved in preparing statutory planning policies as part of the Liverpool Local Development Framework and Strategic Environmental Assessment.
