About Ajaypal Singh

As a kid, I was mad about owning a garage, wrench in hand, turning beat up bikes and cars into roaring monsters. Picture a young kid, pretending to rev up a motorcycle in my backyard, making engine noises like a complete nutcase. That wasn’t some passing fancy; it kicked me into gear to chase a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, diving headfirst into engines, gears, and all that mechanical jazz. At Mercedes Benz Research and Development, I was a Product Design Engineer, and my God, it was like playing with the coolest toys. I got hooked on human machine systems, figuring out how to make cars and drivers click like old pals. It was like playing matchmaker for metal and humans! That curiosity sent me packing to TU Delft for a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering, focusing on biomechanics and bio inspired design. Think studying a bird’s wing to fix a bike’s annoying bits. For my thesis at Koninklijke Gazelle, I wrestled with the e bike brake squeal, that ear splitting noise that makes dogs howl. I nerded out on experimental modal analysis, interferometric measurements, and vibration analysis, and got good at planning experiments that didn’t bore everyone silly. Now, I’m a Senior Cost Engineer at Cleopatra Enterprise, where my job’s not about pinching pennies but telling clients when a project’s going to cost a fortune. I validate their cost estimates, assess project specific and systematic risks to flag potential hiccups, and delegate tasks to my team to keep things rolling. My Gazelle days taught me to break down tricky problems, and now I use that knack to crunch numbers and warn clients, “This plan’s cool, but it’ll empty your pockets” It’s not as flashy as designing a Mercedes, but keeping projects real and manageable? That’s my kind of win. When I’m not playing budget detective or silencing brake squeaks, I’m a cat dad, fostering furry little terrors for five years now. They’re my personal chaos trainers; nothing tests your chill like a cat swatting your coffee off the table. I also scribble minimalist art, because I’m all about keeping it simple, whether it’s a sketch or a cost report.
