Reporting to the Director. VPO currently manages $260 million in capital projects for the provincial Seismic Mitigation Program (SMP). • Managing Design, Procurement and Contract Administration for elementary and secondary schools. Providing leadership and mentoring to 6 project managers, planners and admin staff. • Completed Project Definition Reports (PDRs) for 12 elementary and secondary school projects and secured $320 million in funding (2017-2020) from the BC Ministry of Education (MOE). PDRs for another $100 million in funding are in progress. Direct engagement with the MOE. • In-depth experience of various procurement methods including Design Bid Build, Design Build, Construction Management & Taken projects from planning, design to delivery and close-out. • Good knowledge of construction contracts CCDC 2, CCDC 5a & 5b, CCDC 14 and public tendering practices. Reviewed claims and resolved contractual issues. • Provided leadership for Public Consultation process with the School Advisory Groups (SAG) and neighborhood communities during the planning and design phases of projects. • LEED AP; Portfolio includes several LEED projects certified to Gold and Silver level.
