About Akeem Rollins

I have experience in HIV prevention and ancillary care, linking patients who test both negative and positive to care. In this work, I have educated several doctors, nurses, and direct patient healthcare staff in biomedical HIV prevention and care, including treatment, PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis), and PEP (post-exposure prophylaxis) for HIV. I have been educating on sexual health for over 18 years, including HIV, STIs, sexual health education curriculum design and implementation, educational theatre programs, formal and informal education sessions, condom and prevention method demonstrations, and information creation and dissemination. Previously, I was an HIV Prevention Testing Counselor trained in Personal Cognitive Therapy and Chemical Dependency Counselor Assisting. I completed a degree in Education Sciences from Cleveland State University where I majored in Special Education with additional focus on Applied Behavior Analysis. Through this, I have previously taught English (3rd-5th; early adult at a juvenile detention center), Playwriting and Theatre (The Cleveland School of the Arts), and worked at institutions that serve adults living with disabilities as direct staff and as a program manager. I’ve recently graduated from Case Western Reserve University with my Masters in Public Health Policy and Management.
