About Akeila Owens

Leaving behind the peace of my small town in South Jersey, I embarked on a journey to pursue my dreams at Drexel University in Philadelphia. The city's bright lights and busy streets filled me with wonder and curiosity. With a major in Business and Engineering, I actively participated in various events, driven by my desire to make a positive impact on the world. Despite facing various challenges on my journey, such as the COVID-19 pandemic and a change in my financial circumstances that required me to return to my hometown and Rowan University, I have remained steadfast in my pursuit of excellence. My non-traditional path has given me a deeper understanding of business structures, a diverse perspective, and an ever-growing appreciation for humanity. As someone who is passionate about business, I strongly believe that great leaders are those who surround themselves with exceptional individuals. Whether it's a small startup or a major corporation, having a team of talented people with strong management skills and a deep understanding of their respective industries is crucial to tackle complex challenges and drive success. That's why I pursued a Bachelor of Science in Business Management with a minor in Marketing at Rowan University, and my next goal is to earn an MBA in MIS. With this degree, I am confident that I will be able to further develop my skills and expertise in the field, and craft winning teams for businesses of all sizes.
