I’m Akhil Thomas — a curious and solutions-oriented data science professional passionate about using AI and analytics to solve real-world problems. With a background in software development and a growing focus on machine learning and forecasting, I enjoy turning complex datasets into actionable insights that drive better decisions. Currently, I work as a Data Scientist at Solstice AI, where I build and optimize forecasting models and data pipelines that support high-impact business outcomes. My work blends hands-on technical skills with a strong understanding of product needs — balancing accuracy, scalability, and real-world value. Before this, I was an Associate Software Developer at Danske IT, where I developed front-end systems using ReactJS, contributed to agile teams, and began building the bridge from engineering into the world of data science. I also had the opportunity to intern at Samsung R&D, where our team’s AI project was awarded Best in the Country. I’m currently completing my Master of Data Science at Monash University, building on a Bachelor’s in Computer Science from VIT. My technical toolkit includes Python, SQL, PySpark, BigQuery, Firebase, Tableau, ReactJS, Django, and I specialize in areas like machine learning, time series forecasting, NLP, computer vision, and deep learning.
