About Akila Murray

I attend the University of West Georgia; I will be obtained my bachelor’s degree in Speech Pathology in December 2019. I was drawn to Speech Pathology after witnessing my mother go through speech therapy after her stroke in the summer of 2015. I feel in love with the therapist used different treatments to ensure that my mother can communicate with us. Also, how the therapist made that the stroke didn’t affect her. I have always had a passion for helping others and ensure that they receive the best advice to achieve their goals especially students. My time in the university has taught me how to effectively turn my passion into results. In my current job, I am a supervisor at Six Flags Over Georgia. My time at Six Flags taught me how to set and oversee goals related to customer service and team member motivation. I work with different departments, staff members, and other supervisors to achieve these goals. One thing I learned from this job that applies to my future career field is how to properly use different techniques and strategies to motivate my team members and educate them as well. I am a dedicated worker who likes to work. I do everything in my power to make people around me succeed.
