About Akilah Davis

Respiratory Therapy became a passion of mine after seeing my older sister being placed on a ventilator after a tragic burn accident. The compassion and knowledge that the RT showed not only to my sister and my family, but her colleagues as well was remarkable. I remember experiencing different emotions while visiting my sister and while different care teams came and took care of my sister, none compared to the empathy the Respiratory Therapist showed. I take that feeling with me during every patient interaction I have and not only extend kindness and grace to the patient but their family as well all while healing and providing excellent care. I currently have 6 years as a respiratory therapist with experience with that ranges to LTACHS and nursing homes to large trauma hospital with leadership experience.
