About Akin Karapinar

My background is architecture and m.civil engineering (conservation). I have 3+ years of office and 2+ years of site management experience in the architecture, conservation/restoration field. Since 2015, I participate and successfully completed 10+ medium size restoration and conservation works of historical buildings (structures between 12th-19th centuries) in Cyprus. Also, I have an experience and participated in some of the UN restoration/conservation projects in Cyprus as well.+Experience Importantly, I have knowledge of traditional surveying technics with traditional and manual tools. Use of laser scanners, obtaining the point clouds and generating 3d models for extended representations in 2d and 3d formats. From Cyprus and Italy, I have an education, experience, and knowledge of the modern materials timber, steel, and concrete usage in restoration as well as the knowledge of choosing the right traditional materials (bricks, stones, mortars, masonry.). Thanks to the master study and practice in numerous conservation and survey works that I had previously, I am very well equipped, confident, and knowledgable of inspecting/detecting various physical, chemical, and all other possible deterioration and damages on the materials and the buildings, and analyzing these correctly, have a hypothesis, prove the hypothesis, apply the most suitable solution and have appropriate results on my surveys and conservation works.+Skills My IT skills include fluent 2d, 3d, and 4d (modeling, animations) use of the following softwares, 3ds Max, Unreal Engine 4 and 5, DaVinci Resolve, Twinmotion, Navisworks, Infraworks, Archicad, Autocad, SketchUp, Photoshop, Lumion, Geomagic, and Cyclone by also having an intermediate experience of Revit as well.
