About Akshay Ashtunkar

I am a Senior Software Engineer with 7.5+ years of experience designing and scaling high-throughput, low-latency trading and backend systems in fintech and systems engineering domains. My expertise lies in building resilient, distributed platforms that operate reliably under strict SLAs and heavy transaction volumes.Currently, as an SDE-3 at Angel One, I lead the architecture and delivery of cloud-native, event-driven trading services, owning systems end-to-end from HLD/LLD through production rollout. My work focuses on designing fault-tolerant microservices on AWS, integrating with external market vendors, and implementing robust disaster recovery and failover mechanisms to ensure continuous availability.I have a strong track record of modernizing legacy systems into scalable cloud platforms—reducing processing times from hours to minutes, improving operational efficiency, and enabling real-time decision-making. I specialize in performance-critical development using Golang and C++, and have built high-TPS services, data pipelines, and internal platforms that deliver measurable business impact across trading, operations, and support teams. An Master of Technology (M.Tech) Gold Medalist in Computer Engineering, I bring a systems-first mindset, strong ownership, and cross-team leadership to every problem I work on. I’m passionate about building reliable, scalable systems and solving complex engineering challenges at scale.Let’s connect if you’re looking for someone who thrives at the intersection of distributed systems, cloud architecture, and high-performance backend engineering.
