About Akshay Mapadath

Hi, my name is Akshay Mapadath. I am a second-year Business administration student at the School of Management at UTD. Through my coursework, I am developing organizational skills, problem-solving, and resourcefulness. Planning and researching have always been skills that I like bringing to a team, and I look forward to bringing those skills that I have and the skills I will learn to bring collective success to an organization that gives me an opportunity. Throughout high school, I had roles such as yearbook photographer/ writer, chess club president, and choir member. I gained many essential skills through these roles, such as strong writing, teamwork, strategic thinking, and leadership. I believe these roles can help me greatly in the coming years. Current a project I am working on is the UTD wege competition which is centered on sustainability. Jobs I’ve worked were first around chess tutoring which helped me build skills that gave me confidence for school and future work. I also currently worked at Cinemark as a Team Member which gives me experience in customer service, money handling, organizing skills, and overall has improved my work ethic greatly.
