Background

About Akshay Prabhakar

I’m an operations leader who specializes in diagnosing complex operational problems and turning them into structured, scalable systems. I operate at the intersection of customer-facing execution and internal technical teams, partnering closely with Engineering, Product, and cross-functional stakeholders to identify root causes, improve workflows, and implement durable solutions that reduce friction and operational risk. At Gelato, I lead operational performance across North America, owning high-impact escalations and translating recurring issues into systemic improvements. Rather than solving issues in isolation, I focus on pattern recognition, workflow redesign, and preventative controls that strengthen service reliability and partner outcomes. Previously at Booking.com, I managed partner portfolios and worked directly with customers to improve performance, compliance, and operational efficiency while aligning internally across commercial and technical teams to drive execution. I’m known for structured thinking, calm decision-making under pressure, and the ability to bridge technical and non-technical stakeholders to move complex initiatives forward. Core strengths: Systems optimization | Cross-functional leadership | Customer & partner communication | Escalation & incident management | Process design | Operational reporting
