About Akshay Sheth

Hello Everyone, I'm currently a Super Senior (5th Year) at Rutgers University majoring in Mechanical Engineering with a minor in Business Administration. I have a particular passion for Robotics, Controls, Energy, and Autonomous Systems. I’m always looking to expand my skills as a young engineering professional so my interests are constantly growing and evolving. I have my background in mechanical engineering which I plan to start my career in and then transition to engineering management roles or Product / Program management. I am currently open to discovering new opportunities to grow and mature as a professional while honing my technical skills in programming languages such as MATLAB and Java, CAD Modelling using Solidworks 2020 (open to learning new programs), and creating simulations in Simulink. As a student leader, I successfully planned events with Engineering and HR professionals across multiple industries for the recruitment of students within the Society of Hispanics Professional Engineers (SHPE) and Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Students Association (MAESA). During this time as working as a Laboratory Technician for the Rutgers Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. I was, and still am, driven to helping students succeed from all STEM majors and backgrounds especially those who are first generation college students like me. I'm interested in working within a wide array of industries such as Telecommunications, Technology, Networks, R&D engineering organizations, consumer health companies, medical devices companies, or government sponsored national laboratories to execute projects and exceed expectations. I am also very passionate about technology, aerospace, and intelligence sector to safeguard lives. I champion diversity and enjoy thought-provoking conversations. Any opportunity to understand a point of view different from my own, is deeply valuable to me.
