About Al Janni

Al has been with Duro-Last Roofing for 46 years, 22 of which were spent in manufacturing. For the following 24 years, Al was the Manager of Engineering Services. He was instrumental in setting up all Duro-Last facilities throughout the country and has overseen most of the new building projects that Duro-Last has invested in to date. Currently, Al is the company's product testing/code approval specialist. Al is a Master Electrician licensed with the state of Michigan and holds two US Patents for flashing details for the roofing industry. He is an active board member of the Single Ply Roofing Industry (SPRI), which he was President of from 2010 to 2011, Treasurer from 2008 to 2009, and chair of the Technical committee from 2007 to 2008. He currently chairs the Member Services Committee. Al is a member and also active on the technical committee for the Cool Roof Rating Council (CRRC) and is a member of the Special Interest Group for the Dynamic Evaluation of Roofing Systems (SIGDERS) – Phase V, VI, VII & this work is carried out with the National Research Council Canada (NRC). Al is also an affiliate member of RICOWI (Roofing Industry Committee on Weather Issues). In 2020, I became a board member representing CFFA (Coated Fabrics & Film Association) and was elected vice-chair, recently he was elected to chair in 2025. Al was elected in 2023 to chair the vinyl roofing Division of CFFA and elected to CFFA President in 2025. In addition, Al is also a member of NFPA, ICC, IIBEC, and ASCE.
