About Alaa Ibrahim

More than 28 years of Telecom experience. Currently, I am a Network Strategist at KPN in the Netherlands. Prior experiences include CTO for Umniah in Jordan, Group Technology Director at Veon in the Netherlands as well as earlier roles including CTO of Djezzy in Algeria, Group Network Director at Veon and positions with Orascom Telecom, Alcatel and Telecom Egypt. My career has included technology functional leadership, building / managing / motivating diverse multinational teams (up to employees), the development & implementation of technology strategy, program / project management, managing vendors and leading major transformation / cost reduction projects. I have worked in head office and OpCo settings for both telco operators and a major vendor. I possess a broad range of international experience; I have been based in Algeria, Portugal, Canada, Egypt and the Netherlands and travelled extensively to Orascom operations (10 countries) and Veon operations (18 countries). I have also performed thorough due diligence for more than 10 licenses / acquisitions worldwide. I am known as a strategic thinker with the communication and negotiation skills to drive major and profitable change; enabling digitalization, reducing costs and improving customer experience.
