About Alan Barrientos

If I had to identify 2 key qualities about me, they would be my resiliency and insistence on being the best I can be in whatever I do. I graduated summa cum laude with my B.A. in Psychology while on a pre-medical track as well as obtained my Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice. Being the overachiever I am, during my online masters program, I also started two companies. During my first 2 years, I was able to develop teams of employees and acquire enough business for both companies to cover expenses/make profit. Unfortunately, Covid came at a time where my companies weren't in a position to withstand the abrupt changes that were occurring, so I had to shut them down. I stayed resilient and found a lucrative remote working opportunity with another tutoring company. In 2022 my family and I decided to move to North Carolina, which led to an excellent career opportunity as a 7th grade math teacher in an underperforming school. It was here where my grit and resilience was really put the test. With the help of my mentors, administration, and core teacher team, I was able to assist students with improving their understanding of math and do well on their EOG. Over all, it was a difficult experience given where the students started in terms of their math grade level understanding, but I was dedicated to giving it my best effort every day. One student was even able to receive a college scholarship! At the end of the year, my wife received a new work opportunity, which led us to relocating to Florida. Now, my resilience is being used to find an organization I can hang my hat with and use my years of experience to help grow. In return, I'm looking to grow with said organization, both personally and professionally.
