About Alan Cheng

As a senior technology or government executive in the Pacific, how do you deliver the reliable connectivity required for keeping your local communities or businesses connected to the global economy? For businesses and organisations across the Pacific, overcoming such a prolonged period of physical isolation and disruption is only exacerbated when remote communities and economies are digitally disconnected. Bridging this digital divide between main populations connected by undersea cable and outer islands with no cables requires cost-effective satellite solutions merged with cloud-based networking. As the Sales Manager of SES across the Pacific, I work closely with local businesses, governments, and technology leaders to help them diversify their local economy while enabling local businesses to enter the global marketplace – all of which are reliant on good connectivity. With more than 20 years of experience as a consultant and executive across the enterprise, government, wholesale, and consumer telecommunications and technology sectors, I also leverage my engineering background to accurately diagnose and solve client challenges. I’m also able to act as a trusted advisor by developing trust and rapport with different stakeholders across multiple organisations and cultural backgrounds. In my own team, I believe in recognising effort and empowering everyone’s input towards positive customer experiences. By encouraging every team member to establish peer-to-peer relationships with our customers, we know these relationships ultimately lead to the improvement of the daily lives of many end-users across the region.
