About Alan Clinton

I have worked in the construction industry for almost 25 years, travelling extensively and gaining vast amounts of experience in sectors such as Data Centres, Healthcare, Retail, Office & Commercial, Manufacturing and Residential. Over the past 14 years, I have been focused mainly on the data centre industry and have been involved in the successful delivery of numerous projects in Ireland, the UK and continental Europe, many of which were among some of the largest colocation data centre providers in the world. I grew up in county Meath, Ireland and I’m proud to have begun my career by undertaking an electrical trade, after being inspired at a young age through my passion for Lego design & build, that the built environment was one that fascinated me and I wanted to learn all there was learn! Subsequently, learning the construction business from the ground up instilled my drive and encouraged my further education in electrical engineering, project management and leadership excellence programs.I joined Mercury in 2007 and having worked in various leadership roles. I now hold the role of Operations Director of the Data Centre & Building Services sector within Mercury, a business unit dedicated to data centre build-out works within Europe. With overall responsibility for the business unit, I lead and work alongside great teams of people and I remain committed to ensuring we exceed our clients’ expectations while remaining aligned to Mercury’s ‘Work Safe | Home Safe’ culture at all times.
