About Alan Davidoff
I began my career in cocoa in 1983 with V Berg & Sons. Initially in the shipping Department gaining valuable logistics experience. I moved on to Drexel Burnham Lambert in 1987 to become Shipping Manager. I continued my role with the same team but under the name of Balfour Maclaine and then SFH Cocoa Ltd. During my time at SFH Cocoa, I became Head of Cocoa Trading fully responsible for developing new relations and business opportunites. I also became a Cocoa Federation Arbitrator and LIFFE Cocoa Grader (now Intercontinental Exchange). I joined Agro Traders Limited as UK Director in 2001 with a responsibility to grow the business, develop operations and create new trading opportunities. From 2008 I began to work more closely with the development of our Nigerian cocoa processing factory Plantation Industries Ltd which has been running successfully since 2011. We began a Factory expansion program in 2022 to double processing capacity which is due to complete in 2024 and will make us one of the largest grinders of cocoa beans in Nigeria.
