About Alan Ekanger

Hi, I am an individual who loves people! I am always seeking out what strengths are at the core of an individual, and one of my biggest fascinations is being apart of personal development. In my journey as a leader in a Starbucks cafe, baristas are often hired with very little experience or confidence in their own capabilities. I have been able to take individuals at the entry level, help them define their truths, and encourage them to courageously act. Following this structure of building up confidence, and sharing opportunities for action; I have assisted several of my peers in promotion. It has been an honor of being a resource to others and have enjoyed leading in their development. While being a leader in a Starbucks cafe, I have also developed and managed my own nutrition brand, hosted monthly events for my apartment complex, and maintained the position of head roaster of river trail roasters. In my progression with cafe leadership at Starbucks, I have taken an opportunity to work in the Tryer Lab. I have been chosen for this unique role to be the firewall for Starbucks baristas around the world. In this role I test new equipment and routines, then give feedback and promote new ideas to all of the unique teams of Starbucks.
