About Alan Gnann

With over 7 years of experience in software engineering and agile leadership, I am passionate about delivering high-quality products that meet customer needs and business goals. I have a Professional Scrum Master I certification and a strong background in programming and networking. As an Associate Manager Software Engineering at UKG, I managed a dispersed team of 10 software engineers across three products, aligning product goals with given resources, measuring and improving team performance and productivity, and mentoring and developing each team member. I value collaboration, innovation, and learning, and I strive to create a healthy, psychologically safe, and supportive environment for my team and stakeholders. In my previous role as a Scrum Master II at UKG, I successfully led three to five dispersed teams of five to nine developers per team, coaching them on agile philosophy, principles, and practices. I facilitated scrum meetings across teams, removed impediments, and ensured user stories were sprint ready and supported company goals. I also developed and taught agile training to new hires and existing employees, helping them adopt agile mindset and behaviors. I used my agile leadership, methodologies, and continuous improvement skills to enable my teams to deliver planned features in a timely manner, while fostering a culture of experimentation, learning, and feedback.
