About Alan Ham

I am a recent graduate of the Government Relations post-graduate program at Seneca College, the only dedicated GR/PA program of any level in Canada, and am looking to apply my newly gained skills in campaigning and advocacy with an agency that reflects my values. In addition to courses on Canadian, US and EU government, lobbying and media relations, I had hands-on experience with the latest digital advocacy tools and techniques for outreach and to advance policy. Before returning to post-secondary school, I had a position as a STEM outreach manager with Engineers Without Borders Canada, managing volunteers and preparing proposals. As exhilarating as the non-profit world was, I felt the need to hone my skills as a communicator and build my network of government. I am a graduate of the Automotive Engineering and Management (Hons) program at the University Of Ontario Institute Of Technology (UOIT), a program I enrolled in due to a passion for transportation technology, specifically electric vehicles and mass transit. Along with the engineering design courses, I have gained experience with management and entrepreneurship through the additional Management year of studies. A goal of mine is to use my technical background to help the public understand more about current commuting challenges and the innovations that can help tackle them.
