About Alan Holroyd

Hospitality Educator & Principal Lecturer for Hospitality, at TAFE SA's Regency Campus, Alan Holroyd has spent the last 30 + years as a professional in the Education/Training and Hospitality industries. This has given him the ability to provide education experiences that are vibrant, knowledgeable & engaging! For the first 20 years of his career, Alan moved from Cocktail Bar attendant to Waiter, then Functions Manager, Duty Manager, Training Manager and Restaurant Manager at prestigious establishments such as the Adelaide Casino & the Alphutte Restaurant. With a career change in 2001, further education became a priority for Alan & over a period of 18 years his many accomplishments have included: an Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management, a Diploma of Business Management, a Cert IV in TAE & a Bachelor of Adult & Vocational Education at the University of South Australia. While being educated himself, Alan has also imparted his knowledge to students by writing & developing many of the resources used in the Hosptiality Management Courses at Tafe SA Regency & the Le Cordon Bleu School in Adelaide. Alan also works closely with many of the major Hospitality Industry organisations developing the skills of their middle and senior Management in his role as an Enterprise Development Consultant. Alan is also a passionate advocate of excellence in specialty coffee, being an AASCA accredited judge and judging many Barista competitions.
