About Alan Joos
I began my fire service career in 1985 and have served as a volunteer, part-time and full-time fire service professional. Most recently appointed as state training chief for the fire service training division within the State Fire Marshal's office of Nebraska. I have worked in state higher education based fire training programs at two major universities as an assistant director managing both fire training for the state and state wide firefighter certification programs. I have taught on-line and classroom fire science courses, I'm an adjunct instructor for the NFA and I teach in my local volunteer fire department. I've published a fire instructor textbook with another outstanding author and fire instructor Forest Reeder and we are currently working on the second edition of the text.
