About Alan Kasprzyk

Mathematics student with passion for computers and technology at large. Collage: Durning my bechelor, I was mostly interested in various fields of mathematics such as game theory and topology, but ended up focusing on probability and stochastic theory. Not really because they were easy for me, but because they were hard and I enjoy trying to learn things that challenge me. Beside pure and applied math, I focused on programming, usually in python and R. Python was my first programming language (besides learning basics of C++ in highschool), hence I did variety of projects in it, including one small video game in PyGame (as a final project for a programming course), Monte Carlo simulations and solver of large sparse linear equations (as part of my bachelor thesis). My bachelor thesis title is "Fleming-Viot processes associated with Brownian motion in domain" and is mostly concerned with overview of past 30 years years of advancement in research of F-V processes in a domain and finding stationary states via either Monte Carlo simulations of trajectories or solving linear equations. Career: I started my career as part of 3-month technical analyst internship at Credit Suisse, which later was changed for normal full time employment. As a member of Technical Analyst graduate program I was involved in various trainings/events mostly teaching things about finance, banking and IT. After merger of UBS and CS, I also became a member of UBS graduate program with it's own set of trainings. Currently I work both in projects in CS and UBS as a software engineer. Personal life: Although collage and work don't leave much time for hobbies, I'm interested in variety of things besides math and tech- history (particularly history of Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth during later half of 18th century and interwar to modern history of Poland)- literature (particularly Belles-lettres)- other humanities such as art and theatre - politics
