About Alan L. Sisson

Alan L. Sisson, MD, RPh is a graduate of the Drake University College of Pharmacy in Des Moines, Iowa. As a Registered Pharmacist, he practiced clinical pharmacy while attending the Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago. He underwent residency training in Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Miami (FL) Affliated Hospitals and in General Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Educational Foundation in Ohio. He has been Board Certified by the American Board of Emergency Medicine and has practiced medicine for over 40 years, including in the Emergency Departments of Level 1 Trauma Centers at university medical centers. Dr. Sisson has been a guest speaker at numerous local, state, national, and international conferences plus director of others, most notably the National Conference on BioChemNuclear Terrorism just subsequent to September 11th. He has taught Pharmacology and been a professor of Biology teaching Clinical Anatomy to pre-healthcare profession students. He is an award winning author currently with three novels and a screenplay for a TV series under consideration. He has been involved in several entrepreneurial business ventures. He created a continuing medical education program for physicians regarding the "Pharmacologic & Therapeutic Uses of Herbal Medicinals" while the medical director for a nutriceutical company where he formulated 4 products that are still on retailer shelves. He has been a consultant for numerous industries including financial, insurance, legal, pharmaceutical, and healthcare, including in a healthcare policy advisory capacity for a presidential campaign. He has extensive experience in medicolegal case reviews and analysis. His particular area of interest is traumatic injuries in their acute treatment and rehabilitation. He is a firm believer in minimizing drug therapies as well as educating patients on how to help cope with their diseases in order for them to heal more efficiently. Specialties: Emergency Medicine
