About Alan Lowry

I graduated from Maynooth University in September 2016 with a higher diploma in Professional Accounting, and prior to that, in September 2015 with an honours degree in Mathematics and Accounting. During my studies there I covered modules such as Financial Accounting, Business and Law, Advanced Management and Cost Accounting, Advanced Financial Reporting, Analysis of Mathematics, Ethics and Corporate Governance, Geometry and Graph theory. During my time in Maynooth University, I was a Gold Golf Scholar on the prestigious Paddy Harrington Golf Scholarship Programme for 4 years. I was also honoured to be chosen as Club President for 2 years and sat on various boards and committees representing the scholarship programme and my peers, whilst constantly leading by example. During my first year at Deloitte Ireland I worked as a Consulting Analyst with Deloitte Ireland in Finance Transformation. I was part of the EMEA CFO (Chief Financial Officer) Program, which has a wide and varied range of offerings for CFOs of companies to help them with their jobs. My responsibilities include supporting these offerings and creating essential and presentable deliverables for CFOs. Following on from this, I spent one year working on the design and implementation of a Commercial Finance hub for a multi billion dollar organisation. This involved travelling to Brussels every two weeks and working with a multi cultural European team. My roles included Project Management support, development of a dashboard for the location assessment and process re-design. Over the past year I have been working with the Transfer Pricing team within a multi billion dollar company. My role has included managing a project where the Transfer Pricing team had to align processes to the company due to a rebranding and reorganising of the commercial side of the business. I also own and oversee a dashboard which helps the TP organisation have a live view of profit adjustments by product and geography. Outside of work, I am a massive sports fan. I have been a member of Esker Hills Golf Club since 2002 and Castle Golf Club since 2016. In 2015, I won my maiden golf tournament by claiming the Mullingar Scratch Cup. Prior to this, I was selected to represent Leinster due to my form throughout the season. I captained Maynooth University to the 2015 Leinster Senior Cup title, who then went on to win the All-Ireland. I have also won the Leinster Barton Shield in 2017 and the All Ireland Mixed Foursomes in 2019 with Castle Golf Club in Dublin. I really enjoying watching GAA, rugby, snooker and soccer.
